Polo Niagara
September 6, 2014
Join us for an entertaining afternoon of the King's Sport, fashionable attire, food and drink! The Friends of Fort George, in partnership with the Toronto Polo Club and Parks Canada, are proud to present Polo Niagara—a public demonstration match played on one of the most historic sites in Canada, the Niagara Commons. Polo was played on this field by military officers and gentlemen and it has long-served as a training ground for Canadian soldiers preparing to go to war. In addition to the two polo matches the event will include entertainment such as music, awards, parade, boutiques and a traditional divot stomp.
Proceeds from this event will help support the Friends of Fort George, a non-profit organization that works in partnership with Parks Canada to promote, preserve and protect Niagara's National Historic Sites. These include Fort George, Brock's Monument, Fort Mississauga, Navy Hall, Butlers Barracks and the military reserve known locally as the Commons.
If you are interested in becoming a corporate sponsor of Polo Niagara, please send your request to polo@friendsoffortgeorge.ca or call the Friends of Fort George Gift Shop 905-468-6621.
